About NEDA
NEDA is a not-for-profit trade association representing distributors of electronic components and their manufacturer-suppliers. Dedicated to the enhancement of the distributor-manufacturer relationship. NEDA represents companies involved in the distribution of electronic components and parts, computer and computer peripheral components and test, measurement and control equipment and their manufacturer-suppliers.
NEDA provides our members with a variety of events and publications to stay on top of the latest industry concerns:
- Distributor and manufacturer members gather in small groups at the NEDA Roundtables and Task Forces to listen to industry experts, discuss issues and provide important feedback to the industry. The Components Roundtable recently met to discuss a variety of environmental topics such as China RoHS, the legal issues surrounding compliance, and import/export compliance.
- NEDA Task Forces introduce industry guidelines that increase efficiency and reduce costs for the industry.
- NEDA’s one-of-a-kind Supply Chain Savings Calculator is a web based program that provides customers, distributors and suppliers with a tool to analyze their business strategy and make a comparison of all the costs of sourcing direct or using distribution.
- We help you take stock of how your business compares to the competition through a number of valuable benchmarking studies including the Distributor Productivity Report, Compensation and Benefits Survey.
- For over 19 years, the NEDA Education Foundation’s Project Host program has invited the brightest students in the field of Industrial Distribution and Supply Chain Studies to attend EDS as our guests and gain “real world” exposure to our industry. Our close relationships with universities and the NEDA Project Host program enable us to introduce electronic distribution as an exciting, viable career choice to college students studying distribution. The program offers our members an opportunity to meet uniquely qualified candidates for internships and employment positions.
- NEDA has a variety of publications available to assist in staff development. The Electronics Primer: The Products, The Market, The Players is a reference book that provides a non-technical explanation of the products and their features, the applications and customers, the market size and future trends, and the manufacturers and their authorized distributors. It’s a must-have desk reference for all employees and is especially useful for new hires. In addition, the Review of the Electronic and Industrial Distribution Industries is the only academic journal targeted specifically to the electronic and industrial distribution industries.
Additional education and networking opportunities abound through our annual Executive Conference in Chicago (November 2-4, 2008), the University of Industrial Distribution and the Certificate in Distribution Management Program.
As the voice of authorized distribution, we’re committed to making sure others in the electronic distribution industry know what a monumental difference the supplier authorized channel makes.Contact Us
